The Emergency Operations Centre has been activated in preparation for the expected rain today.
Here’s what you need to know.
An Orange Heavy Rain Warning remains in place for Tasman District northwest of Motueka (until 9 pm today, Friday) and Tasman and Nelson districts about and southeast of Motueka and north of Lake Rotoroa (until 11 pm today, Friday).
There’s also a Strong Wind Watch in place for Tasman District until 9 pm today, Friday.

Dangerous river conditions, flooding, and slips are likely. Dangerous driving conditions and road closures are expected.
Please be safe out there, limit travel, if possible, drive to the conditions, and keep clear of flood waters.
Civil Defence Centres
If you feel unsafe at home, consider staying with friends or whānau or dropping into one of the below Civil Defence centres to weather the storm.

Taparewa Community Centre
These centres will be open from 10 am, Friday, 11 July, to 12pm, Saturday, 12 July.

Temporary Accommodation Service (TAS) has been activated for Tasman/Nelson severe weather displaced residents.
