Emergency Mobile Alert Issued - Tapawera and Tadmor Valley
An Emergency Mobile Alert has been issued to Tapawera and Tadmor Valley.
The alert is as follows:

Flooding from the Motueka River and Tadmor River will impact the Tadmor Valley and Tapawera area. Residents are recommended to evacuate to higher ground immediately. Please go to friends or whanau if you can.
If you do not have anywhere to go, then go to the Design Room at the Tapawera Area School if it is safe to do so. More information and updates will be available on https://www.nelsontasmancivildefence.co.nz/

Many residents have already gone to stay with friends or family/whanau. If you are unable to do this, then the Design Room at Tapawera Area School is available as a Civil Defence Centre.
The river is due to peak soon, and will cause flooding in the area.
