There is a flood risk to the following areas adjacent to rivers:
Between Tapawera and Riwaka, along the Motueka River Valley, including Motupiko River and Tadmor River
Between Wakefield and Brightwater, along Wai-iti and Pitfure Rivers
Low lying areas in the Moutere Valley
If you were affected by the previous flood event or feel unsafe, please evacuate now to higher ground.
Please go to friends or whanau if you can. If you do not have anywhere to go, then Civil Defence Centres are open at:
- Riwaka Hall
- Ngatimoti School
- Wakefield Worship Centre
- Tapawera Community Centre
If it is an emergency, then please dial 111, and ask for Police or Fire.
